Celebrating outstanding achievements from across all sites and functions
The event gives everyone an opportunity to express their appreciation for the level of commitment, dedication and hard work in striving to improve the business year on year.
Among the award winners were Grace O’Dwyer, Robert Kehoe and Paul Eccelsfield who took the People’s Choice Award for their work on ‘Building the Branch Network of The Future’. Linda Sheehan was also singled out for her team’s work on the ‘Elopak Carton: Cap Light Weighting’ whereas Damien Sutton and the FarmGen team were recognised for their stellar work on the industry-leading solar PV initiative. The fourth award winner was Kyeesha Glenn-Davi, Vivian Gee and Cian Moloney who worked tirelessly on the Sensory Analysis Internalisation project.
Addressing the Awards hosted by the Operations and Supply Chain Excellence Team, Jim Bergin, Tirlán CEO, said: “The level of change in the world is just increasing all the time. We have a very important value – Adapt to Grow. That quiet evolution or revolution under that Value is absolutely critical for us.
“There are various characteristics that you are conveying all the time within that, such as imagination, willingness to flex, acceptance of change and creativity, agility, collaboration and awareness of the external environment. That is a huge engine of our success. This process unearths brilliance.
“In the true essence of our Adapt to Grow value, the Excellence Showcase brings to life the opportunity to evolve as an open-minded and agile community.
Knowledge is the key to success, but sharing knowledge is key to progress. The projects showcased here are excellent examples of how we are continuously improving our competitiveness and growing our business.”
The purpose of the event is to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements of teams from across all sites and functions within Tirlán. The original 95 entries were carefully whittled down to 24 finalists under each of the 8 award categories, Michael Phelan, Head of Operations & Supply Chain explained. “The vision of the showcase is to help bring to life the expectation that continuous improvement isn’t extra to the day job, it is the day job. Also, everything is not aways rosy. Problems occur every day for all of us. When we eradicate the risk of blame we can focus more fully on solutions rather than keeping our problems under wraps. We are further building on really strong problem solving capability. But we should not take it for granted, its needs all of our support,” he urged.
During the Excellence Showcase, our teams demonstrate how through an open mindset, a focus on continuous improvement and the courage to take risks, we all deliver positive change in Tirlán.
