Farming for Water Newsletter

It is almost a year since we launched our Farming for Water River Slaney Project to protect and enhance water quality across our catchment area.

Over that time, we’ve seen significant and sustained work on farm and in the community. Farmers and Co-ops have been working together with Teagasc, LAWPRO and others to improve water quality and make the best possible case for Ireland’s retention of the Nitrates Derogation.

Tirlán suppliers have engaged with the programme and attended water quality events over the past year, including those referenced in the newsletter below. More results-driven, practical events are planned over the coming months.

Expert support and funding is available for a wide variety on-farm improvements under the Farming for Water EIP. Details of the and the exact  supports are also included below.
