Tirlán Brings Home 12 Medals at the 2024 International Cheese Awards
This annual event is the world’s largest platform celebrating top-tier cheese and dairy producers, attracting over 5,500 entries every year.
Tirlán Cheddar Cheese proved to be a top hit with the judges at this year’s International Cheese & Dairy Awards (ICDA), scooping 3 Gold, 6 silver and 3 Bronze medals.
The ICDA is the world’s biggest platform to champion world class producers of cheese and dairy products. Winning one of these prestigious awards means being part of an elite group and 125 year old tradition of the very best in class.
The accolades were received across all categories - mild, medium, mature and extra mature.
Tirlán submitted a variety of cheeses from both our Ballyragget and Wexford facilities. It’s fantastic to see such recognition for the dedication and hard work of the Tirlán team, whose efforts have led to the production of these award-winning cheeses, highlighting our unwavering commitment to quality and innovation.
Special recognition goes to Gerry Warren, Tirlán Cheese Grader who selected the award winning cheeses for entry.
Gerry Warren, said: “We are delighted to have achieved such a strong performance at this year’s internationals awards. We were up against stiff competition from both Irish and UK cheddar producers. The judges found that the texture and flavour of our cheddar really stood out, and this is down to the quality of the milk which we receive from our dedicated dairy farm families.”
